Question 1 of 12
Do learning styles actually exist?
People do have real preferences: some reach for a diagram, others for a podcast. What the evidence doesn't support is the idea that you learn better when lessons match your preferred style. A 2008 review by Pashler, McDaniel, Rohrer and Bjork found no adequate evidence for that matching approach, and several well-designed studies contradicted it.
So use your result as a description of what feels natural, not as a rule. The study habits with the strongest evidence work for everyone: testing yourself instead of rereading, spacing reviews over days, and combining words with pictures.
Your result is still useful. It tells you which of those proven habits you'll find easiest to start with, so you're more likely to keep doing them. That's how the 7-day plan works: the methods come from the research, the format comes from you.
Questions
What are the 4 learning styles?
The most popular model splits people into visual, auditory, reading and writing, and hands-on learners. This quiz uses the same four areas as preferences: seeing, listening, reading and doing.
Are learning styles a myth?
The preferences are real, but teaching people in their preferred style hasn't been shown to improve learning. A 2008 review in Psychological Science in the Public Interest found no adequate evidence for that idea.
What is the best way to learn something new?
Test yourself instead of rereading, space your practice over several days, and mix words with visuals. These habits have strong research support for learners of every type.
Is this quiz scientifically validated?
No. It's a quick self-reflection tool, not a psychological test. Use it to notice your habits and pick study methods you'll enjoy, not to label yourself.
Are my answers saved?
No. The quiz runs in your browser and your answers are never sent anywhere.
